Stratton as a Big Brother

The best part of having two kids is seeing how Stratton acts with Marley. I'm not saying he's perfect, I have seen him push her away or take a toy from her...but he is a pretty good big brother. At 4 am on night Marley was crying. Stratton likes to come in our bed at about 3 am every morning, so he was in bed with us. I got up and gave Marley her binky, but she kept crying. Stratton said, "Why is she crying?" I don't do well with waking in the middle of the night and said, "She thinks she needs something, but she doesn't" Blake asked if he could do anything to help (so sweet). I said, "Just let her cry..." Here is where Stratton chimes in with, "Mom, we follow Jesus. Dad is trying to help like Jesus." "Yep, you're right Strat, what do you think Jesus would do?" I asked. "You should go rock her in the rocking chair." What do you say to that? I got up and rocked her and while rocking Strat comes in and says, "See! I knew it would work!!!" (Of course Marley fell right back to sleep.) Needless to say Strat loves his sister and is an awesome big brother! Every time we drive anywhere he wants to hold her hand. Marley will only let him do this when she is asleep. He is such a good big brother!

Here is a delightful picture of Marley eating pasta!

I love messy face pictures, apparently Marley does not!

I love this post, Thanks for sharing it. It amazes me at such a young age how much children really do know, you and Blake should be proud- it goes to show that he has been taught (plus having the natural ability to care).

What a cutie!!
