Binky Update

This is just a quick update on Marley's binky.
I chose to keep cutting it and I cut it every other day during August. There is nothing to suck anymore and she is doing fine. She tries to suck it, but she can only bite it to keep it in her mouth. When she goes to sleep I tell her to hold it. She is doing this and it is working great. She still asks for it, but not nearly as much as she did. I don't mind her holding it and she is sleeping well.
Overall - it has been a success! Thanks for all the tips.
Next month - POTTY TRAINING!!!

MOAB!!

We just got back from Moab and it was one of the funnest weekends we have had!
Our friends invited us and took great care of us while we were there...thanks Chris and Kristin!!!
Here we our in their jeep on the trail called Hell's Revenge (I think that is what it is called). There were a few times I was sweating bullets, but I know Chris knows what he is doing! Blake drove for a bit and did a great job.
Our little family on the overlook of the trail Hell's Revenge.
We went on the most beautiful and refreshing hike. It was a bit hot at first, but once we got the water it was nothing but fun. It was the perfect mix of water and hiking and the kids had a blast!
I even jumped off a cliff once with Blake. You can tell we have almost been married 10 years, we are in perfect synch!
Isn't it beautiful?
Another trail, I can't remember what this one was called, maybe The Rim? It was totally freaky! I had to close my eyes and hold on a few times.
BB gun shooting!

What a fun fun time!

The last two months.

We have been on the go since the 4th of July and are still going!
Bear Lake, Girls camp, 24th of July, Lagoon, Kemmerer, Lava Hot Springs/Chubbuck and This is the Place State Park!
Here are some pictures of some of these adventures.
For some reason Marley loves to dip her head in the water, any water! The bathtub, the lake, puddles, rivers, whatever! She loves to dip! This is a picture I took once I was home from girls camp and I just MISSED my kids so much!
24th of July friends!!!
There's only one Lagoon! Aren't these twin girlies cute!
Marley LOVES horses. She asks everyday if she is going to ride a pony. We saved all of her 'tickets' at Heritage Park for the pony rides.
This little goat's name is Oreo. Stratton would have loved to bring the little fella home with us.

Busy Times and Project Bye Bye Binky

Everyone is busy....Heck it is summertime right!
In July we have been to two family reunions that consisted of traveling to Idaho and Bear Lake. I have had girls camp for a week and I recently finished up Youth Conference.
Not to mention swimming lessons, soccer camp, BBQ's, work and everyday life added into all the travel.
CRAZY!!!
I am now coming up for air.
On to Project Binky and Marley.
I was going to try out this cute idea from a friend of mine where she gathered up all the binkies in the house and took her daughter to Build-A-Bear. All the binkies were put inside the bear, which the girl could then cuddle and sleep with, cute hu! The only problem is that her daughter is about a year and a half older than mine, so I think the concept will be difficult to understand.
Another friend suggested cutting the binky, just a little bit everyday.
This is the method I am trying. It wasn't a big deal when I cut the binky the first night, but the second night made a hole in the top of the binky. I am guessing that this makes the binky less satisfying.
Marley eagerly grabbed for the binky, put it in her mouth and quickly pulled it out, studied it and put it back in her mouth. She said, "I don't want this binky." I said, "This is the only binky." So she put it back in her mouth:)
I felt like a terrible mom, very guilty.
She didn't go to sleep until 10:00 last night. So maybe cold turkey is better, I don't know.
