Saturday began with an Easter egg hunt in our friend's backyard. We prepped S for the event by telling him to put as many eggs in his basket as he could. Last year he would pick up an egg, open it, eat the candy, and then go for another egg. Needless to say, he didn't get very many eggs last year. He did much better this year and we even had to tell him to let other kids get eggs too.
After the Easter egg hunt we tried to take some pictures of the all the kids and this is what we got...
Next on the agenda was the zoo. We went with S's friend C. It was super crowded and the weather wasn't that great. We saw about ten animals and then decided to jet. S wasn't too upset because he got to play the whole time with C. They ran and jumped and laughed the entire time.
Easter Morning
It is bizarre...S wakes up every morning during the week about 15 minutes after Mom. It doesn't matter what time it is, it is like he knows that she is awake so he has to be too. The exception is Sunday. On Sundays S sleeps and sleeps until the last minute before church. He has to be woken up and then he is in a bad mood as he is getting ready for church. By the time we get to church he is usually in a much better mood and Easter Sunday was no different. We had to wake S up and he was bleary eyed and confused as he wandered into the living room to see what the Easter Bunny brought him.
Dying Eggs
After church we dyed Easter eggs in an unconventional way. Instead of dipping our eggs we "painted" them and then rolled the paint all over them. Each time S got paint on his hands he freaked out and wanted them washed. I think Dad made him a clean freak!!
Rolling Eggs
It was kinda lonely rolling eggs with just the 3 and 1/2 of us. S was wondering what he was supposed to do. He didn't have his uncles around to show him that he was supposed to start throwing the eggs at people. Since S rode his bike to the park and had his helmet on Dad thought it would be okay to throw eggs at S's head. Can you see the egg flying toward S's head?
S got into the whole egg rolling thing and was easily entertained, until the rain started coming down...then we quickly went home.
